2020 Hyundai Palisade Power & Handling
In the 2020 model year, every Palisade is powered by the same capable engine. This 3.8-liter V6 engine produces up to 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. Hyundai mates this engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is the standard configuration but all-wheel drive is available.
2020 Ford Explorer Power & Handling
There are three engines offered to power the Ford Explorer. The standard engine, powering the Base, XLT, and Limited trims, is a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-4 that creates 300 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The Platinum model is powered by a 365 horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that generates 370 lb-ft of torque. The last engine is found under the hood of the ST. This 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 produces 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. Each engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The lower three trim levels are outfitted with 2WD while AWD is offered, standard on the ST and Platinum trim levels.
2020 Hyundai Palisade Features & Design
There are three Palisade trim levels to consider in the 2020 model year. The base SE trim level is loaded with full-range adaptive cruise control, three USB ports, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, keyless entry and ignition, third-row seats with 60/40-split, a power folding second-row bench seat, rear parking sensors, heated mirrors, and second-row air-conditioning controls. The SE also comes with standard safety features like a drowsy driver monitor, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, a rear passenger reminder, and lane keeping assist. The upper two trims add second-row captain’s chairs, remote engine start, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and more safety features. There are also a number of packages available for this trim. The Limited comes with everything offered for the SEL as well as a head-up display, automatic wipers, a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, ventilated front and second-row seats, and more!
2020 Ford Explorer Features & Design
In the 2020 model year, there are 5 Explorer trims to choose from. The base model comes with a power liftgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, LED headlights, a driver information display, rear privacy glass, a second-row seat with 40/20/40-split and a third-row with 50/50 split. Standard tech features include a six-speaker sound system, two USB ports, smartphone integration, and an 8-inch touchscreen and the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite of safety features. The upper trims add roof rails, keyless entry and ignition, more USB ports, leather-wrapped interior trim, and leather upholstery. Most of the Explorer’s features are tucked away in expensive packages.
Conclusion:
It is easy to see that the 2020 Hyundai Palisade is the one to choose here! The Explorer put up a good fight with three engine options but the trim levels are pretty bare bones, making it hard to keep up with the Palisade. When you are ready to give your family the vehicle that they deserve, come on down to Hyundai of Louisville!
